German Moon mission

Zum Mond!

German aerospace co-ordinator Peter Hinze has anounced that he wants to see €1.5 billion spent on an unmanned Moon mission over the next five years. It is surprising, given their lead in developing rocket technology, (or perhaps because of it) that the Germans haven't been more active in space so far.

Of course, if you are to beleieve the internet, the Germans shipped the parts to assemble a Moon mission to Antarctic bases at the end of the Second World War in U-boats. They then assembled a fleet of flying saucers and constructed a base on the far side of the Moon which today has several thousand inhabitants. Now the Germans are trying to make contact again.

Good luck chaps!
