The French love to have one of their riders win the Bastille Day stage of the Tour de France but bad luck this year as British sprinter Mark Cavendish took his third stage win seeing off Norwegien Green jersey holder Thor Hushovd.
It's really nice to have a good British rider in the Tour who isn't a boring time trialist and can actually win stages. One thing you can't accuse Cavendish of is being boring and we particularly like his bike this year.
He has had it painted up like a fighter plane complete with nose art, faux rivets and RAF roundels. I don't think Chris Boardman would have gone for anything like that! If he reminds me of anyone from the past it is Mario Cipollini: he is that fast and has that much panache.
I wouldn't bet against him to win another stage and he could still grab the green Jersey if he can get up the remaining mountains and grab some intermediate points.
Every win sees another set of wings added to his top tube. Stylish!
