Dr Minogue of the Australian Space Research Institute promotes the XP5 Boomerang sounder rocket.
All this talk of British Rockets got me wondering what happened to the Woomera site in Australia.
It seems that interest in rockets in Australia is in the same state as in the UK. There are a few sounder rockets fired off once in a while by Australian universities but Woomera, which had a population of 6,000 at its peak, has dropped to 300 people. There is a rocket museum (which looks quite good) but most of the land remains as a large military testing range; presumably for military boomerangs.
